Where’s the love for the Varsity girls’ soccer team?
January 22, 2019
Whether it is a football game, volleyball game or basketball game, most students will go and support their fellow Eagles. But why is it that no one seems to be showing that same support for soccer?
The Spirit Club is in charge of brainstorming themes for sporting events to try and attract as many students as possible to different games. With that being said, Abi Danheim (‘19), a member of the girls’ Varsity soccer team shared, “I do not understand why the Spirit Club says that they are so supportive of Episcopal sports, though they only notify students when there is a volleyball, football, or basketball game.”
Many of the soccer players are not feeling the love and support from their classmates so let’s work on changing this issue. We all need to rally together to brainstorm different themes, thus attracting more people to these games.

Make one of these articles for tennis. We feel neglected too…

As a member of the Varsity Girls Soccer team, I do not feel as if the community supports us in the ways they support basketball, volleyball and/or football. Every ESJ social media presence posts about upcoming games except for girls soccer. All other winter sports have had their pictures taken to be made into videos to post on Instagram or Twitter to promote their games (and the themes of their games the student body makes up to promote getting students to attend). The soccer team feels deeply neglected and would love to have the support from the esj community, especially since districts are coming up.
