Boys’ Basketball Beats Bolles

On January 23, the Episcopal Eagles took on the Bolles Bulldogs by storm in a neck-to-neck game of basketball. Episcopal lead every quarter, until the final stretch when the fans began to bite their nails.

Starter Max McQuiddy ‘20 dunked three times and had many other successful shots. Small forward Mark Flakus ‘21 also had a killer game that had his fans chanting “He’s a freshman!” all night.

Point guard Mike Hodges ‘19 was leading the team to a win with clear communication and plays every quarter. After the game, with the Eagles winning by a single point, the fans stormed the court. Hodges ran straight into his moms’ (Dean Christy Hodges) arms demonstrating the true humility that Episcopal School of Jacksonville has taught him.

The ESJ community really showed their spirit and hopefully will continue to do so at many more games to come.
