Students at Episcopal experienced Labor Day in many different ways. This holiday is an opportunity to relax and enjoy fun activities before returning to academic routines.
I reached out to several students to find out about their days. Reese Luker, a sophomore, decided to spend the day at the beach with her friends. “We went to Atlantic Beach and spent the day swimming and playing volleyball. It was fun to enjoy the time with my friends.”
Andreas Hicks, an eighth grade student, went to a pool party with his neighbors. Many students spent their day at the beach or pool.
Victoria Vormack, a freshman, went out on the boat. She said, “I went tubing with my family and we saw so many dolphins.”
Many students said they spent their weekends relaxing and catching up on homework. Several students also said they watched firework shows
Labor Day is a good chance to gather with family and friends and enjoy the sun. The first Labor Day was celebrated on Tuesday, September 5, 1894, when President Grover Cleveland signed a law making the first Monday of each year a national holiday. It’s a day that marks the unofficial end of summer and offers a great opportunity for fun.
