On Sunday, August 24, Orlando was alive with excitement as the crowds gathered for a big concert downtown.
The stadium was filled with music and talk among the fans who had come from all over for this concert.
One of the fans, Ashlyn Bush ‘27 shared, “I enjoyed the concert and getting ready for it with my sister and her friends. The line was super long to get into but was totally worth it.”
Her words reflected the atmosphere perfectly, the wait outside was long, but once the lights came on and the music started, everyone knew it was going to be a memorable night. This was an experience that people would continue to talk about after a long weekend ended.
The artist Abel Makkonen Tesfaye known as “The Weekend” particularly seemed to favor Orlando over Miami, said Keelin Bush. “Tesfaye kept on mentioning Orlando in many of his songs. He said he would never skip Orlando again, and next time he would be doing three nights there.”
The excitement from the crowd made The Weekend remember Orlando is not a city to forget.
