The past week, I have asked a few of my fellow students about their opinion on Sage food and if they had any favorites.
To begin, I asked my friend Ansley Croft ‘28 her opinion, and she told me that she liked the mac and cheese and wished that they served it more often.
Moving on, I then went to ask my brother Jeb Naugle ‘27 how he felt about the food. Naugle said that he liked when they have tacos but wishes there was also more American food. He went on to talk about how he wishes there were more days when a simple “cheeseburger” was served, instead of every once in a while.
After listening to my peers’ thoughts and feelings, I decided to run a test of my own. I went to lunch for a few days with my classmates’ thoughts in mind, and tracked what I ate and how I felt about it.
On September 25, Sage served a baked potato bar, mac and cheese, baked BBQ chicken thighs and beignets. I tried everything they served to get a good and fair view on their food, and I was quite pleased. I loved that baked potato bar, and they set it up in an efficient way so that students could quickly and easily get their food.
I then tried the chicken thighs and mac and cheese. The chicken thighs were delicious, and they did not put too much sauce on them. Croft said it was some of their best mac and cheese yet, and I had to agree.
The next day on September 26, they served cheeseburgers, curly fries and a pancake bar. I thought that all of the food had flavors that went well together and was very happy with it.
Overall I am quite impressed with all of the amazing food that Sage puts out, and everyone is very grateful for all of the hard work the Sage staff puts in!
