MetLife Stadium
Many people have questioned whether or not MetLife stadium’s turf is safe or not. After weeks two and three of the season, both the Giants and the 49ers suffered many injuries, which erupted the question of if MetLife Stadium’s turf should concern players and coaches.
During week two, the 49ers lost star defensive ends Nick Bosa, Solomon Thomas and rising running back Raheem Mostert all to injuries on the new turf. Both Nick Bosa and Solomon Thomas are out for the season with torn ACLs.
The next week the Giants lost star running back Saquon Barkley, after taking a fall on the turn. The next day the Giants fans were informed that Saquon would be out for the year with a torn ACL.
People are calling this “double trouble” after three ACL tears in a two week span on this new turf in MetLife stadium.
Will the NFL address this problem? Will they make the Jets organization change their turf on the field? Only time will tell.
