The newest generation of Disney stars Olivia Rodrigo, Joshua Bassett and Sabrina Carpenter stirred up a lot of buzz with all of the drama surrounding the release of Olivia’s song, “Driver’s License”. Within 24 hours, this song blew up on TikTok and on Spotify.

Rodrigo and Bassett starred on the hit TV show on Disney+, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. The co-stars seemed to have a very close relationship on social media as well as having very good chemistry on camera. Fans started to become curious if they were dating in real life. They never officially announced that they had a relationship; however, after Rodrigo’s song was released the lyrics said everything that the fans needed to know.

There were huge Easter eggs in the song, such as talking about who taught her to drive. Rodrigo in the past said that Bassett was the one teaching her to drive. Another clue is when she sings, “You’re probably with that blond girl that always made me doubt”, which is ironic because Joshua is currently dating another Disney star, Carpenter, who happens to be a blond girl.

Fans started to rumor if Rodrigo was dissing Carpenter, but nothing was confirmed or had enough evidence behind it until Carpenter came out with a song called “Skin”. There is a specific line that came across really shady that fans latched onto. When Carpenter shares, “You can try to get under my, under my, under my skin, while he’s on mine”, it makes fans go crazy.

Overall no one has officially come out saying that any of the songs were about each other, but they also haven’t turned down the rumors either.
