With a perfect 13-0 record, ACC championship winner, defeating multiple top 20 teams (including beating ranked 13th LSU by 21 points), one would think this team has a guaranteed spot in the playoffs. Much to everyone’s shock, however, the committee did not select Florida State University (FSU) to be in the playoffs. This caused a nationwide outburst, accusing the committee of being biased toward the SEC and picking teams based on the revenue they could bring in.
Many celebrities have also spoken out about the situation, stating that FSU should leave the ACC because the SEC is clearly favored.
The committee spoke out on this matter, stating their decision had nothing to do with the SEC not being in the playoffs. Instead, they argued that FSU being down to their third-string QB and not having the same team they did with Jordan Travis was the main reason.
Some college football fans have come out saying although FSU is very deserving of being in the playoffs, Alabama is the better team and will actually be able to compete for the national championship.
Meanwhile, other fans have canceled their ESPN subscriptions and vowed not to watch any of the college football playoffs, claiming this is the downfall of college football.
