Coming all the way from Luxembourg, Mats Kemp ‘19, speaking five different languages, including Luxembourgish, German, French, English and Spanish, transferred from Bolles to Episcopal for his final year of high school.

“I was drawn to Episcopal for its phenomenal swim coach and the welcoming atmosphere,” said Mats.

Living most of the year in Florida with a different family, Mats tends to only go home to his family in Luxembourg over the summer.

“All the people I have met here are super kind,” said Mats, “So in the future, I plan on attending college here in Florida.”

Mats admitted that coming to a new school was initially hard, not just because he did not know nobody but also because Luxembourgish is his first language.

“ Thankfully Episcopal has been so welcoming, I have met a bunch of new friends already in a matter of just a few weeks,” said Mats.

Mats plans to continue his love for swimming, fishing, hunting and playing golf during his time at ESJ and beyond.
