Episcopal School of Jacksonville hosted their annual dance concert the weekend of Friday, March 1. “In the Moment” was choreographed by dance teachers Amber Daniels and Tess Sturgeon. This year Episcopal incorporated student choreographers, Alana Gregory ‘19, for on-stage performances and Thomas McLaughlin ‘19 to help with the audio.

This year’s recital was well done. The team helped choose songs written by Khalid and Sylvan Esso to keep the mood mellow and ended with a hip-hop style dance to Travis Scott and French Montana. They included every grade and genre but made sure to give the seniors the spotlight. The music was well done within every act, and their weeks of practice were demonstrated when they hit the stage.

A welcomed change this year was the simple addition of male dancers. Jake Moorhead ‘19  and his brother, Max Moorhead ‘23, were extremely confident and proud to be on stage dancing and participating in the art they love.

The arts at Episcopal improve every year, and if you unfortunately missed this year’s Dance Ensemble performance, I highly advise you to go grab your front row tickets to next year’s show.
