On April 3, I had the privilege of watching my brother’s band called Porchroots perform at Jack Rabbits in San Marco.
To preface, I should probably explain what Porchroots is. Porchroots is a band that my brother and his friends made. The members are Jeb Naugle ‘27, Reed Krueger ‘26, Owen Finn ‘26, Drew Watson ‘26 and their new member, James Steffes ‘26. They play popular indie/rock songs and have quickly gained traction from social media.
The atmosphere of Jack Rabbits is very cool because there are many lights, but no windows, so you feel as though you have been transported to a different state. Jack Rabbits is very different from the Florida vibes, which makes it a very cool spot to perform in.
The night started off with them doing an opener, and the crowd went wild. It was mainly kids from Episcopal, but many kids from other schools were there as well.
Even though the night was really fun, it was unbearably hot. There was no AC inside the establishment, so it was quite toasty.
Additionally, they have released new music. Go check them out on Spotify! Thank you so much for reading, and I will see you next time.
