This interview has been modified and modeled after Vanity Fair’s Proust Questionnaire. The purpose of the Questionnaire is to delve into the qualities that define an individual’s personality.  My Wednesday morning guest is Spencer Huie ‘20: rower, intellectual, class tall boy. In his free time, Spencer enjoys going to the beach and playing the piano.

  1. What is your idea of perfect happiness? Not necessarily doing anything, just sitting back and relaxing.
  2. What is your greatest fear? Spiders and large insects.
  3. What is the trait you most deplore in yourself? Awkwardness and lack of confidence.
  4. What is the trait you most deplore in others? People misusing they’re their and there.
  5. Which living person do you most admire? Barack Obama because he’s awesome and Ms. Fitz.
  6. What is your greatest extravagance? Chick-fil-A. Recently I had it three days in a row, my mother told me to stop spending her money.
  7. What is your current state of mind? Hungry.
  8. What do you consider the most overrated virtue? Being the BEST at something.
  9. On what occasion do you lie? If it’s something that isn’t too serious or if it will hurt the other person’s feelings.
  10. What do you most dislike about your appearance? My skin.
  11. What is the quality you most like in a man? A good sense of humor.
  12. What is the quality you most like in a woman? A good sense of humor.
  13. Which words or phrases do you most overuse? “Mother may I?”
  14. What or who is the greatest love of your life? My phone and my car.
  15. When and where were you happiest? Back in my young days, carefree.
  16. Which talent would you most like to have? I would like to be able to roll my R’s. I always feel left out.
  17. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? To be more decisive.
  18. What do you consider your greatest achievement? I think I’ve done well in school.
  19. If you were to die and come back as a person or a thing, what would it be? Beyoncé.
  20. Where would you most like to live? By a beach, somewhere tropical.
  21. What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery? When you think you know the answer to a question in class, and you’re confident, then you’re wrong, and everyone judges you.
  22. What is your most marked characteristic? My height.
  23. Who is your hero of fiction? Mr. Krabs.
  24. Which historical figure do you most identify with? The purple wiggle that always fell asleep.
  25. What is it that you most dislike? When people ask me if I play basketball.
  26. What is your greatest regret? Not forwarding that chain text to ten of my friends in seventh grade.
  27. How would you like to die? Knowing that I made a mark.
